Writer & Director — London

About

James Alexandrou is a writer and director working across film, stage and sound, based in London.

A graduate of the National Film and Television School (MA Directing Fiction, 2021), his video work has gathered more than 60 million views online, while his shorts and feature have screened at international festivals and picked up awards along the way — including a UK Music Video Award in 2023 and the Audience Award at the East End Film Festival.

His stage debut as a writer-director, Casserole, ran at the Arcola Theatre in 2024 and earned three Offies nominations: New Play, Set Design, and Duo Performance in a Play.

On screen, he has shadowed Alex Garland on Men and directed second unit on ITV's Confessions of Frannie Langton. Off screen, he builds the rooms other people make work in: the acting studio Actors East, the theatre Playhouse East, and the audio post house Rumble Post.
